yep put the heratige bars on mine too, dont have to worry about the risors becoming loose, and it lets you use the backrest if you have one

I had a friend give me the bars off his Springer softail and they are awsome! they are only 11" but a perfect fit for me!
They sure give the bike a really "cool" feel!
It had yami fat straight bars when i baught it, but they just didn't fit the look of the bike to me.
They are available if anyone is interested. shipping cost only.

I just installed the 12in mini apes on my 01 R* and what a difference! I've only had them on the 30 miles of riding so far, and the comfort level is amazing. I have major lower back problems and can only ride for 30 - 45 minutes at a time without looking for a place to stop... We have a ride planned for the end of April to Osage Beach, so can't wait see how much of a difference they will make. Didn't have to extend the cables or wiring, so it was an easy mod! I also vented my gas cap.. and that was a piece of cake too!!!

If you use the harley bars do you have to drill any holes for the yamaha controls to mount? What stops the throttle from turning on the bars?
