Got a flat yesterday (rear tire). Pulled out an aluminum roofing nail . Fortunately I won't need the bike this weekend.

Between road construction and home destruction (remodeling ) it's a wonder we don't have more. I almost did a second plug then thought better and replaced it.

A few weeks ago I bought one of those big magnets. The one that has wheels on it and a broom handle. I went up and down my drive way a few times and couldn't belive the junk I picked up. It's a wonder I don't get a flat every day.

You probably already have. Most roofing companys run them through your yard and driveway when the job is finished to pick up loose nails. BB

Yea about 20K miles ago I had same problem on my Darkside tire, I rode it flat about 2 mies down to the Dude who put it on and he plugged it. I figure I only have about 8 K miles left on it now. Drats

to mount that on the front (like the plow on Darn's bike) but it'd miss all the aluminum nails, glass and other sharp crap. Maybe a leaf blower type thingie operated off a drive from the motor? As narrow as the actual tread on the bike is you'd think your chances are minuscule at best of getting a foreign object in there.
