That one will work. Looks like the one I mounted to my Roadie bars with a Kury P clamp. Straight out of the Drag Specialties catalog.

Not any tach will work on our bikes. They have to state 'Dual-Fire' compatible, as the R* engine plugs fire every revolution with a wasted spark. The one you linked does work. Easy to wire up.

If you have, or are thinking about, risers this is a neat housing setup for the 1 7/8" tach for center mount on the bars.

Here's a white face one. Offer him $60 and see if he bites.

These have a cool, blue LED back light and is dual-fire wired for the R*.

Now, if you're content with a bar mount tach like you linked the 2.4" tachs are cheaper, but still the same guts. Just a tad larger.

Here's a white face on the cheap. ( these won't fit the housing)

That's all I got.

These tachs are all the same they are Mi Tai or something like that. The Pro One and Barons are the same ones but they contract the company to put their name one the face plate but they are all the same. I have had 3 of them each with a different face plate but all the same tach. I am running the Barons right now and it has become the cheapest I have found. Like I said they are all the same tach. Check out the Baron's price VS others and you have a choice of face plate color for $69.95.

+1

I have the same tach that is shown in the link. Works perfect. Found the needle to be steady, no movement at all. Well pleased. Now watch it stop working tomorrow.

My first one got crushed in the wreck the second one was on my 07 that I sold and the third on is on my 05 now. Like you said nice and steady and works great it even sweeps like the speedo and gas gauge.

Thanks for all the info guys. As far as location I'm not 100% sure. Was thinking something like this... trying not to crowd the bars of my bobber.
