Platinum Boarder Posts: 3573 Gas Cap help 1 Year, 8 Months ago   On my last big ride the gasket I guess gave out on my OEM Gas cap and allowed gas to pour out all over me when I left a fill up. I need to get it fixed but, they don't sell the gasket only the whole cap at $80+ which would then have a key different than the ignition. I was looking at aftermarket options as I don't really need a locking cap. Looks like Barons is the only option. So question is anyone used it? Secondly, any other aftermarket options? Will a Harley style cap work? Kury has one for $50. Last question I have my current stock cap vented as I am running pumpless with a HSR42 carb any issues with non vented caps and pumpless? It's vented however, so you won't gain anything that way. As long as your tank vent line and rollover valve are functioning fine, you should be okay with a non vented cap. The problem is, as soon as a blockage developes, your right back in the improperly vented tank category. Rico got along fine without venting his cap for about a year running pumpless. He got into some sloppy weather in the mountains in Thailand, and had it quit running on him because the vent line got clogged up.   Logged       The administrator has disabled public write access. #970633 Doc_V (User) Platinum Boarder Posts: 6530 Re:Gas Cap help 1 Year, 8 Months ago   Just an FYI- You can actually disassemble the cap and swap lock tumblers.
