Adjure lights 5 Years, 10 Months ago
Just installed adjure head light but the passing lamps didn't fit. Said I had to buy new buckets. What in the world? Any suggestions

I bet ya they're 4 1/2's and you're running what brand of light bar? Are your current buckets 5 1/4?

Probably are. Honestly didn't measure them. I told the guy what I had and this is what they sent me. Is that what happened to you.

No it's not what happened to me, I have passing lamps from phat performance and know they are 4 1/2's.

Have always liked the adjure lights and looked into upgrading headlight from stock and of course also passing lamps. Somewhere in the pre-research I read that if one has yamaha's light bar, those buckets are too big for the adjure passing lamps.

So was just wondering if that is what happened to you. Are your current passing lamps from yamaha? Are the buckets too big for the Adjure?

Yeah. Looks like another 300$$$. For hd buckets to make it work. The headlight fit perfect. Looks great. Pissed I didn't know before getting into it. But it's just money.

Hey don't blame yourself, you said you told they guy what you had, he should of known better.

I'm always wanting to call customer service or sales before a purchase and get them to clarify that their part will fit my current setup.

I've seen passing lamps for sale in the classified before. My passing lamps from phat performance were $99 each about a year or so ago.

Good luck.

Beams, I don't know if you have the Yamaha spots but that's what came on my Midnight Silverado. As you already know that the Adjure spots are 4.5".
If you have the Yammy spots they are actually 4.75" . So, yes, you would need to replace the spot buckets.
Or.....if you could make some thin "washers" with the ID (inside diameter) that would fit over the Adjure 4.5" spots and an OD (outside diameter) the same as the original spots. Clear as mud I imagine. I can't remember the dimensions it's been too long.

Click on the thumbnail and look close at the spots you'll see "washers" or shims that go around the lights and go under the bezels.

Hope that helps,
Rod

Yeah thought it was funny. Nothing or nobody said anything about it, but on the directions it stated if you have a Yamaha you'll need to buy HD buckets. Oh.... Ok let me pull out the extra 3 bills on this project. I better read on into this then it's going to have a note that I need to change to a Honda light bar and a Suzuki front end and a 21" front tire at 34#'s of pressure. Crazy Funny how things spin out of control. $$$$$$$

no kidding.
I bought an oil pressure gauge setup from http://www.sscustomcycle.com/products/customizing/Yamaha/roadstar.shtml
In the picture it looks nice. I have an aftermarket exhaust system which runs the back exhaust closer to those chrome oil feed lines you see in the picture. The oil gauge didn't fit my RS and it won't fit many that run exhaust like the baron nasties.
Pissed me off.
