take them both off, no need for either one. Go to an open drive pulley and no fuel pump and the left side of the bike gets interesting.

Got any pics of that?? Dont tease us with words

Stevie, the bags are OEM. Picked them up off a member here a few years back.

Now black out your hub cover recesses! You know you want to! Just find something catchy to put in the center.

No pump. No lower belt guard. Now you guys got me to thinkin'... no upper belt guard either!

My second R* came from a fellow that lived on a dirt road. He must have caught a rock between the belt and pulley. It's got a small hole through the belt, but it still seems to be plenty strong... for now!

Re:Lower drive belt cover...leave it or toss it?? 5 Years, 11 Months ago
Thanks guys. I decided to ditch it for now. I tried to modify it & cut off the lower portion that has the threaded part for the screw. With that part off it is easier to get off & you can see your belt if need be. Just know this that chrome chips off easily, so I just left it off.

Aligned & adjusted & still get the noise. I'm thinking it must be the dust from our rock road. Everything appears to be correct.

The only thing I was worried about was the passengers left foot in the unlikely event the belt comes off or breaks. Just checking...1/2" play in the belt of 1/4" turn by hand is good right? I'm thinking about getting one of the belt tools to double check myself. Anybody else use one?
