You most definitely have a problem .
The Roadie is no rocket but the torque with jerk your socks off between shifts !!!!!
I'm thinking your jetting is out of whack

I agree with Fishead. Your bike should be able to stomp all over some of the bikes you mentioned.

andygca get more info on the carb jetting.
The carb guru's will need it to help you out.
My set-up is a little different with the Max Flo airbox.

Andygca, I had a silimar setup. 2003 (1600cc), BUB Big Willys, Baron BAK, ported manifold, jetted carb, 31T pulley.
It would smoke the rear tire easily. I have a buddy who rides a VMAX. I couldn't keep up with him, but earned respect for keeping it close.
I agree with others, with your mods, you should be running stronger than that.

I have an 07 1700 Silverado and I've NEVER been left feeling that this bike doesn't have enough power to at least keep up. I have stock air box with a K&N air filter, not a BAK, stock exhaust drilled out to stage 1, never touched the carb. Getting ready to put in a Barnett clutch spring to keep it from slipping when I twist the throttle, but I keep up just fine.
