TPMS suggestions? 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
|
|
The number of "tire down" issues has caused me to revisit the use of TPMS.
I can't really find current information on good MC TPMS systems as everything seems to be from 2015 or earlier.
I'm looking for something that mounts INSIDE the rim, and has the ability to power the display with bike power.
Does anyone have any idea ( or actual usage data) on anything like this.
I already have to deal with AH's that will steal a chrome or billet valve cap, so I dont want expensive screw on modules.
Ant help or info appreciated.

FoBo silver is what I use, will alert you via blue tooth and you can always check the pressure without laying on the floor!

Both of the above are screw on external units. That type may be what I have to do, but they are a last resort as I would prefer internal mount tire sensors.
Thank you both for the input.

I do not like TPMS's !
They are nothing but trouble and expense.
I check my own tire pressure.

Yes, I "Usually" check my tires before a ride, but I like the idea of TPMS both for those occasions when I dont have time to check... and even more important, to know I'm loosing pressure WHILE im riding.

You are clear that you want internal units and do not need input on external,
but.... ..
...if I had an issue with one of these, I would rather replace an external one, or swap front and back for troubleshooting,
rather than pull my tire off the rim.

A very valid point. Like I said, I prefer the internal due to anti-theft concerns, as well as the numerous "online reports" of issues relating to the torque load on the stems causing fractures, etc. As I stated, I am not ruling out externals, just leaning towards internals for the reasons stated. I appreciate ALL information, again , thanks.
