Belt guard rattle 5 Years, 7 Months ago
Noticed that the last few times I've had the Roadie out over sharp bumps I hear a clanking sound from the rear. I think from what iI can tell it's the belt guard hitting the rear pulley cause i hear the same sound if i tap on the guard. The two bolts seem tight, what am I missing?

I had to bend the tabs on the swingarm slightly for mine to clear when it did that.

The belt guard on my 07' is rubber mounted. Took mine off and ditched the rubber. Put a small washer inside the rear mount hole to keep it centered and torqued it down. No clank.

I took two washer and put over the rubber and retightened. The washers smash the rubber down and hold that guard in place
and the rattle stopped.

I didn't even think about hard mounting it. I took a piece of the adhesive "loop" side from Velcro (black) and stuck it to the swingarm where the guard rattled against it. No more rattle.

Penguin, I had the same issue on my 07. I took the guard off completely. Its been 9000miles since.... no problems yet. PLUS its mice to be able to SEE the belt and check it for wear.
