I've been holding out on you guys... 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Well boys,

I'm still in Alaska, just barely hanging on as far as work goes, and about three weeks back I flew up to Anchorage and picked up my 2006 Roadliner with 1,300 miles on the tachometer. Hooked myself up with some Belkin heated gear from Alaska Leathers and headed for the mountains around 10pm. What a ride it was heading down the Seward Highway, and then the Sterling Highway to Kenai, AK. Got home around 1am with the sun blinding me for the last 30 miles or so.
The next day I got demoted and went from being manager to the weekend guy. Company decided taking a day off wasn't in their vocabulary, and they needed someone who was willing to work 7 days a week until they said otherwise. Nevermind that I had the approval of two different people to take the break. Long story short it's a family business, and a friend who was more qualified than myself showed up right after I was hired. A little buyer's remorse with a pinch of manipulation and next thing you know I'm the weekend guy. Wasn't sure what to do with the bike for a while, but I've decided to take advantage of the free time and enjoy the Alaskan summer while I can.
Have found some great roads on the Kenai Peninsula, and if you're ever up this way let me know. I'll be glad to share my quickly growing rolodex of local twisties! (Homer's great for starters!)

Here's a few shots of the new ride:

Beautiful bike. These things have a way of working themselves out, just press on, and hopefully it'll right itself.

Sorry to hear about your job situation. That's *seriously* messed up. I'd be pretty pissed. But on a better note, that's a good lookin bike. I like the color combo.

Appreciate the support brothers... and yes I'm confident it'll work itself out one way or another. In the meantime though I'm so glad to be back on the bike. So some quick notes comparing my new bike to my '04 Midnight R*:

(sold it in VA 4 days before coming to AK last summer)

Speed:
The R* with all my mods felt like it was shaking itself apart above 105mph...
The Roadliner (w/ windshield installed) did a 110mph by accident while I was passing a car in the mountains.

Torque:
The Roadliner's just sick! And it seems like 2nd gear gets me a lot farther on the speedo than the R*

Handling:
I miss my R*!
The one favorable quality the Roadliner has is that I have yet to scrape a floor board. (I'm trying I promise!)

Quick side by side comparison. Which bike do you like better my old one (R*) or the new one (on the right)?
