Well...got the synthetic in 20/50 air temp is 46 degrees F and engine is cold...hooked up my mechanical oil pressure gauge mounted in my HD touring fairing and at approx 900 rpm...28psi...I think that should be ok from what I've read on here...On to the next task..

IMHO, each person sets his Ride up to his/her own liking, If it ain't Sputtering, Knocking, Clanking, Crapping or any other strange stuff (other than what ours do in the norm) then it don't matter in the end, am I right?

The biggest thing after concerns about oil pressure(valid or not), is what the carb needs to work properly at idle. The 850 to 950 spec from Yammie, deals with the amount of vacuum needed for the pilot circuit to work like it should, and the bike to respond to throttle as well as can be expected, when pulling away from a stop. That may be the threshold for maintaining amps from the charging system also. Not charging exactly, but not losing ground either(this isn't an issue on the highway).

Primary drive slap is another consideration. A lumpy idle is a stressful idle, even though the transmission is not coupled.

There has to be truth to this. My headlight noticeably pulses when idle is too low.

Improved somewhat this year after replacing the 7 year old battery , but its still there.

Nice buy. I shelled out 52 bones for mine several years ago.
