Make sure that the fasteners that you use to secure the bracket to the filter cannot come loose and get sucked into the engine.............

i used 1/4 in SS bolts , with flat washers, and locknut on the outside (which will face the engine. this way gas dont eat the nylon on the locknut, its a bit tricky to get a wrench inside to holt bolt while tightening nut, dont over tighten, i think i used an old POS sheet metal wrench that u can bend(commonly used on pocket doors) many vent the PCV hose down to bottom of bike, but u must run a filter at end or u run risk of getting shit sucked back in on the upstroke or bugs moving in. i hoooked mine to the hole on filter after i drilled it open, and nasty black shit gets into carb throat from PCV, but that shit would just get into the filter, and ud have to clean it regularly.

So Brian,

You ran your PCV hose to the bottom of the bike with filter? Or to the back of the air cleaner?
I think I got lost there.

Thanks for the advise on the screws for the mounts. I was going to start fabing the mount brackets today.

Just saw on Facebook a couple days ago a guy had a set screw from one of those cone filter rigs go through the carb and ended up in the cylinder. Put some dings in the works.

Re:Part # for filter 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Hello all,
Hopefully this will be my last question about this setup I'll have bug you guys about.

So I'm installing the RC 1980 K&N on my 02 R* 1600 and currently run the Hard Khrome 3" Big Straights with baffles and Smartpartz baffles installed, the AIS has also been removed.

I have the Barons jet kit on order, and from what I gather from the forum I should also install a 37.5 pilot jet. If it sounds like I'm moving in the right direction, where would be the best and quickest place to get the pilot jet ? Do most steelers carry them ?

Thx Rob
