fork tubes 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
according to race tech, road star fork tubes are 43 x 635, and vmax tubes are 43 x 695. Thats about 3.36 inches longer. Is there any reason why the vmax tube can't be used with road star lowers and internals? I'm trying to get rid of the fork extenders on my trike.

If you put the Roadstar internals into a Vmax fork tube, your springs wouldn't be compressed enough at rest. You would have to use the Vmax internals or some modifications to make the Roadstar internals work.

You should be able to mount the wheel (you should compare the axle diameters to be sure). Then you would have to check for caliper mounting and the fender mounting.

Not sure why you want to mess with the bikes handling this way. Changes to the bikes handling characteristics can have some nasty, unforeseen effects.

In case you don't understand: When you turn a bike into a trike you need to make changes to the front end in order to make it handle properly as a trike. Would I do this to a stock Roadstar? NO! But in this gentleman's case what he is trying to do makes sense. I can't answer his question but I understand what he is trying to do since I have built trikes before.

trike requires raked trees which shorten effective fork length,. I have 2 " extensions but they have damaged the tubes. hence the desire to get longer forks.

It should work without any issues, except make sure you use an appropriate spring length and oil height and weight, based on the original application.
