Having just sold my Road Star in like 5 days I know that an item priced right, that looks right, that's presented honestly and accurately will sell with no problem to the right buyer. Will you get every dollar out of it that you put in? NOPE you won't and neither did I! But unless you are selling an appreciating asset that's never going to happen anyway.

You are selling a used item that is full of custom work. While that may appeal to you, that won't appeal to a broad range of buyers so you are going to have to wait on the right buyer.

You also need to list in detail what's been done to the bike to make it custom. You also need to let any potential buyers know what extra parts you have that go with the bike. This is all true especially if you don't have photos up.

You should remember, you are trying to get someone to part with $4000 here. It looks like you spent less than 3 min. pounding out your craigslist ad and that's less time than most of us have spent here telling you how to do a better job of selling your bike.

Good Luck!!

Re:Why wont it sell 5 Years, 7 Months ago
I tried selling my 05 with 7k miles on it in 2009 and 2010, my asking price was $5500 but wanted $5000 for it and I never sold it, had lots of lookers but nobody wanted to give up the $. I told everybody that came and looked at it I didn't need to sell it but if I didn't get what I wanted out of it I'd tear it apart and make it my own. Well I bought me a Heritage in 2010 and last year I tore into my Yamaha making it what it is below, one day before I had it "finished" I had it sitting in the front yard while cleaning out the garage and a guy pulled up and offered me $6500 for it and believe me the guy had the $. So like everone is telling ya you just have to wait on the right person.

And I have less than $200 in the changed up bike, I sold everything I didn't want and waited for deals on parts and the bars were a b-day gift.

Hate to say it, but that is $3500 dollar bike all day. All prices are way down, look at Harley prices!

One way to avoid the phone number mills on CL is to use the shifted function of the number keys, as in:

(&@-@!&-(@#^ is My shifted number. Sell it and I will hurt ya!
