Need to be rejetted? 7 Years, 8 Months ago
I have a 2003 R*. I bought the bike used and the AIS was already removed and the guy did the stage 3 mod to the exhaust. I assume it was rejetted because it runs like a champ and the plugs are not all white. I am thinking about going to a K&N Air Cleaner. Will I need to rejet again if I change the air cleaner? Thanks!

It would depend on what air cleaner you are running now. If you have already opened it up with something other than the stock filter you may not have too.

I'm running to stock air cleaner. I dont want to get into rejetting unless I'm sure there is going to be a noticable difference in performance. It isnt like this bike lacks power as it is. It is the same reason I havent changed exhaust. The mod 3 on the stock sounds good and I dont know if I'll gain any real performance with aftermarket.

If you are running the stock air cleaner and you want to change it you will probably need to re jet. Anytime you change the air in you probably need too. Others will chime in I am sure. If done properly you will get an increase hp. If you are happy with the power you have and the sound. And the bike runs well, I would probably leave it alone. JMO
