River, it may just be because we all have PMS ( Parked Motorcycle Syndrome ) tempers get short around any M<C place just because we are not getting our wind therapy...

I think we all tried really hard this time not to turn it into a debate and hurt anybody's feelings (I know I did)...

And, then, here comes Sampson...

I readily admit I may be posting too much, theres no question I am all wrapped up in this motorcycle, my head is swimming from the techy stuff.

The thing is, I've got over 12 grand wrapped up in this bike and I don't want expensive surprises down the road if I can help it.
I talk too much and I'll lay off.

River, I understand what you are saying. Without "data", how do you really know where your AFR is after doing mods. I have yet to see any AFR data sheets from a FI bike. I think the stock processor has some leeway in making fuel adjustments, but how much is still an unknown since I don't know of anyone that actually has done the diagnostics.

River:

Maybe do a poll and ask the group with FI bikes how many miles they have on them, after removing AIS. And, no fuel processor...

You might be surprised...

RIVER WROTE STATEMENT New Thread info:

Ok, so a person decides they want to put a power commander on their FI bike.
You go to their website and download the closest map to your bike.
There is no way of knowing you are still not running lean without a dyno run or two or three or you put on a good wide band AFR.

That's at least $200.00 bucks right there, now you are into this thing for between 500.00 and 600.00 bucks and the whole crock of crap still may not get you where you want to be.

The Power Commander rep says, "Oh yeah, even if you change your air cleaner to a BAK its going to run lean, heat up yer engine and cause you to marry your ugly sister in law who's got the clap."

I mean all this crap is enough to make you want to eat a keg of nails and crap a full grown horse shod with titanium horse shoes.

Samson replied back: So sorry... "river" I do not talk out the side of my face nor my rear end , but from reading your above statement and seeing yer boy stand'in next to you in your avatar and you making above statements talking out of a horse's rear spittin nails.... sounds to me like yer trying to start something with others, Hmmmm wonder if other's agree ?

I am at most every Motorcycle function or event....that goes on in Oregon so yeah my number of posts our small....... wooops forgot Erbman so sorry Neil.....he's my buddy!
