so you can do this?

LOL! Jeezus I'm 54 years old man! I'll have them put a wheelie bar on the back, my wife doesn't like it when I try to re-live my younger years. She just laughs and shakes her head. Says I have a problem growing old gracefully.?.

All I'm saying is, stop hating on Harley's. Geez, the mention of the name Harley always generates dozens of comments about things that goes wrong with them. Every bike has problems and evidence is all the people here who are daily asking for advice to fix something. No bike is immune from issues. And, if I was able to afford one, I would quickly buy one but I can't so I got a Roadstar. This doesn't mean that I hate Harley's but I can't afford them but I do like them and I'm not going to sit around bashing something that I can't afford.

If you won a lottery and the jackpot was a Harley, who here would refuse to accept it?

According to the hip hop culture, MTV, VH1 and BET, that's called, hatin'. So stop hatin' on Harley's. lol.

I feel the same way! And with todays technology, HD's rival any bike in the world as far as reliability and performance... the days of the leaky, broke down HD's went away years ago... my next bike is going to be a new FLHX StreetGlide with some factory add-ons....

its not hating on harleys. its the fact that harleys are mentioned here on a road star site. go to a harley site and mention a roadie and see what happens. its this mentality that we ride roadies simply because we cant afford harleys. this just isnt true. if i won a lottery and the prize was a harley i WOULDNT take it. id take the cash value. and its not because i dont like them, its because at 6 ft 6 in and 400 pounds, i dont fit on one. the roadie IS the bike for me, and i resent people that think im only on it until i can afford a harley. truth be told it was either a roadie or a vrod for me last year when i bought my current bike. both shiny and clean, both sitting right next to each other on the showroom, and both priced within 500 dollars of each other. i went with the roadie because it was just more of a bike for MY needs, not what others think about my brand of bike. the thing simply put is if you preach harley on a road star website, youre gonna catch some flack. that doesnt mean harleys are crap, it means that some of us feel roadies are more up their alley, and are here to talk roadie, not hd.

id agree IF EVERY post on here was about harleys.. few and far from that. as mentioned before, bike is a bike, yamaha/harley/bmw/ducati ect ect ect... - respect to all IMO.

if someone wants to talk about their Harley, their goldwing or hell even their '79 beetle that wont start and is a member on here who cares?

i ride a harley - but i still hang out here cause i like the crowd/atmosphere that resides on the RSC.

Sorry man but I won't buy another Harley at any time. I have owned more than one and personally had a problem with them wanting to be in the shop rather than on the road. My best friend just got rid of his second HD Ultra in favor of of a VTX1800 for the same reason. Just our bad luck I'm sure. I thoroughly enjoy having this R* because it's got the looks, the sound, the torque, along with the dependability of a Jap bike. Hasn't been on a wrecker yet!

I'm sure some people here have had it with the historical price-raping that HD dealers seem to have perpetrated in past years along with some of the awful dependability problems of the past. Sometimes the past haunts companies. Remember the AMF years? That's not bashing - that's the truth. As I have experienced it. You have to understand that paying a premium price for American goods and then getting shafted really does stick to your ribs. Ease up a bit.

As I sit at a rest area with my R*, wearing all my HD leather: "Hey man - that's a Yamaha, why you wearin' HD leathers?" "Because I like to ride, Duh".
