Are you referring to gear oil or engine oil? If engine oil is not on the dip stick and you checked it with a cold sitting overnight bike, then it will barely show, there is a very specific way to check engine oil, bike has to be ridden 15, 20 min. come to stop, shut bike, wait about 2 min, stand bike up-right then check dip stick
Gear oil is another story, with bike up-right, there is a check hole just below and to the right of the large transfer case fill hole (maybe an inch) when taking out the check screw, the gear oil should come just to the lip.
As far as engine oil coming from above and on the right side, could be the gasket on the oil tank, or from one of the 2 chrome oil tubes that connect to the oil tank, you will have to remove the side covers to see the connection of tubes to oil tank. Any oil above should be traceable to the source, from below and right side there are a few area's to check. But I would recommend that the underside be cleaned completely, and if you choose use a womens deodorant with powder spray to find leak. On the bottom right could be the tank drain bolt, rare though, then there is a small bolt that faces down that is used to check oil pressure (rare too) Then behind the transfer case is an oil seal around the transmission shaft (extremely rare to leak)then the neutral switch (unfortunately most likely)
As far as gear oil leak, if you keep the bike in a garage, you will smell it, gear oil has a really funky aroma. Also 9 out of ten, gear oil will drip at the front pulley side and is quite noticeable when you look from underneath

Thanks Erbman!
So...she hopefully isnt out of engine oil then. So yay!
Which means after we finish messing with the coils, drain the excess fluid out of the transfer case.

Hello Koolau, I looked at the pic of your bike & noticed you have an after market air filter. Check the routing of the vent tube/hose.

Like Ironman said, check the air filter breather and see if oil is coming from there.
Also, check the transfer case breather - see pic - that no oil is coming from there.

it's OK. Just take a couple of deep breaths & everything will be fine(Jona's not on line is he ?). What I was getting at was, I noticed oil leaking on my bike. I've got a BAK on it. The cause, the breather line/hose going back into the air box. It was dripping oil all over the transfer case. Re-routing w/ a filter ended that grief (thanks Bryan) Question, is your breather line still connected to the air filter?

Here is where the oil is leaking from...
Its coming from the bolt in the top middle of hte photo..hard to get a decent picture of it. But standing there looking at it, you can see the stream of where the oil ran.

Ok, does the oil appear to be coming from the screw itself or maybe from the t/c cover gasket behind the screw.
Also, have you checked the two pipes running directly above the screw, i.e. is there a chance the oil may be dripping from one of those pipes?
Another obvious check. Have you put an allen key or socket key on that screw and check that it is tight or loose?
It's unusual for the oil just to start leaking from where you have described.

It's coming from the screw. We just unscrewed where you fill the transfer case and what do ya know oil starts pouring out.....

Is the screw tight Koolau?
Also, you're only topping the case up to the level plug aren't you?
