Do I understand that right, the first one there wins 500,000? Sounds like an invitation to someone getting killed. Hell of a ride though! One of my co-workers rode from FL to the Arctic Circle several years ago, on his HD. Tells stories of the roads on the "Alaskan Highway". Doesn't sound like much of a "Highway" to me..

Read all the rules, You can not break ANY laws, including speed, no performance enhancing drugs. The winner will be given a polygraph test and a drug test. Show me anyone going for $500,000.00 that won't speed in 7,000 miles at least once. I can't drive to work without going over the speed limit at least once.
What about passing someone? Try passing doing the speed limit only.... Not happening!

Most of us can forget it anyway. Reading the rules the ride was only open to HD V-Twins.

I heard about this a few months ago. HD only, and 500k is good money, not speeding is hard though. I'd go for it if I didn't have a job, young kids, and if I was willing to pay someone to take my soul away and give me an HD. Nothing personal against the bikes, but the mentality of HD owners is just not for me. I should tell my father about it, maybe he'll take his 883 sportster!

My folks were accidentally in Homer when the riders were showing up. Evidently, the town was led to believe that it would be a huge deal, but it was rather un-eventful. Sounds like a lot of the riders were a bit, um, disillusioned...

Heard they wanted to keep it to air cooled Harley v-twins to keep a level playing field, read: we don't want a metric bike showing us up!
