To prevent being stranded by the unseen

I am all about fixing things before they break, even if it is unlikely it will happen, I would think though that if you're an Iron a$$ and you do 25-30k in a year, this wouln't be necessary.

i wasn´t being facetious mate, just thought it was a bit early.

i had 40,000 up on my last belt (before i buggered it due to being a dipstick), and had only used less than 1/3 of the adjustment.

i´ve got clients who have belts on their bikes ranging from 70-90,000 miles that are still in good condition.

belt drive ROCKS!

This is going to jinx me I know, I have 32K trouble free miles and I have had it off lots of times changing tires and doing other things, goes back on, still looks like new. I don't recall hearing many being stranded by belt failure, maybe one, and it always seems they say i did this and that and then. So it's a self inflicted breakdown. I was told not to worry about it. So i don't and I do some ling azz trips! Loaded with a Car Tire on the rear.

When I bought my ride, 4 years ago, it had this non-stop ticking noise from the back end, that kept up with changes in my speed. I couldn't figure it out until one day I was removing the lower belt-guard, and saw a rock about the size of a pinto-bean embedded in the belt... I pried it out with pliers, and kept on riding, with no problem!

You could pull a locomotive with these belts, it should easily last 100K miles.

ZoomZoom, which bike did you buy?

Sorry to reply late. I bought a R* 2002 with 10 K miles for 4200. The seller even rode the bike to my home, great guy, great bike.
