from what I know of speed star, everything is plug and play for the most part.
I would go so far as to say yes, but I would call your local dealer first or the Yamaha help line and ask.

I dont have a 45 but from what I have read the TPS is not used the stock throttle cables have to be replaced and they do not fit the stock manifolds so you would have to look at aftermarket ones...and I do not remember anyone asking about the wiring but sounds like flash took care of that..here is a link to the installation manual for Mikunis 45 hope it helps.....Coug

Coug, you are right on with the throttle cables if you get the carb from somewhere other than yamaha, but the speedstar version will accept the stock cables..

Re:Speedstar 45mm carb 9 Years, 6 Months ago
ultrastar, I have had no problems with it at all after re-jetting for an almost stock engine. It comes from yami setup for stage 3 or 4.. that's gonna be too rich for a stock motor so I de-tuned it a bit. It works well if you have the intake and exhaust opened up. but probably wouldn't if you were stock in those two areas..eventually I plan to build the motor and at that point, I will have more than enough carb to handle it...

I love the throttle response, when you twist the throttle, the slide opens as the linkage is direct..on stock the butterfly opens first then the vaccum chamber builds and opens the slide..this causes slight hesitation in acceleration..not much, but definatly noticable..That being said, If you don't plan to go big bore, I think the 42 would be a better choice as it probably atomizes the gas and air mix a little better..

That being said, I have no regrets, my baby runs real good... she don't miss a beat at idle and I can romp on it and she answers... in between, smooth as silk...
