If you suspect you have an intake leak, do not over tighten the intake bolts. If you snap one off or strip the threads in the head, you are looking at pulling the head to repair. It has been done before.

Take the intake off and install new O-rings, torque to specs.

Go to a local bike shop and get some new head pipe gaskets or you can get them on eBay. They have them on eBay for like $10 or $15.

Do NOT OVER TIGHTEN! There is not tight enough, tight it's just right, and to tight it's broke.

okay I think I have the exhaust leaks taken care of now the 1 thing I need to double check is the needle itself I had a washer the plastic spacer the clip on 3 I read on an article here to not use the washer as in the stock configuration my question is does this sound like I had it on 3.5 already and if so if all I did was move the clip from 3 to 4 then wasnt I making it 4.5 if so I guess that why it was rich before

I think most here would agree, that you want a washer under the plastic spacer. Some may be running without it, but the stock needle is set up that way.

The stock configuration is the washer, the plastic spacer, and the clip. A second washer under the plastic spacer gives you the half step. If you leave the wsher off altogether, so the plastic spacer is on the bottom of the stack, then you are a half step leaner. (you could accomplish the same thing, by moving the clip to the 2nd groove, and putting two washers under the plastic spacer.

You have the clip in the 3rd now, with one washer under the plastic spacer. The next step richer, is a half step, accomplished with a second washer under the plastic spacer, for a total of two washers.
Then, if you want to go richer again, you would move the clip to the 4th groove, and go back to one washer under the plastic spacer.

The extra washer, gives the half step.
