clutch spring bolts 4 Years, 2 Months ago

In the process of replacing clutch springs with barnetts clutch springs, can't find what the clutch spring bolts should be torqued. tried a search could not find it. Anyone know

WoW that is not much that is only 6ft lbs. I don't have a Clymers but do they give a spec on a aftermarket clutch spring bolt?

It's not much. I liked to have screwed up going by feel and almost went too tight. I decided to use a torque wrench so I backed them out and I discovered I was way over. 8 foot pounds sounds about right.

The guys on the Warrior forum said to torque the bolts to 5.8 ft.lbs. or 71 in.lbs. as the manual states. Some have gone over the torque spec with the stock bolts and broke the bolts off. My bolts that came with the Barnett Clutch Plate say 10.9 on top of the bolts, but i think you still could strip out the bolt holes because they are aluminum.
