well the slipping is getting much worse im hoping the sr2 comes in this week I got the gasket already so Im gonna have this done really fast.

so anyone else have any tips on the SR-2 swap is it pretty easy straight forward. it looks to be a 2 out of a 10?

The hardest part is removing all the little bits of the old gasket. So, if you're not going to be riding the bike, start it now. I used razor blades and then lightly used a bit of emory cloth to get it all.

Using a Roloc cleaning disc makes short work of cleaning gasket surfaces

Damn, have a set sitting on my work bench. I'm making a mental note of this tip. Thanks davej.

hey guys so my sr-2 came in and I had one question.

the writeup in the tech section stated to tq the bolts to 8ft lbs? is this correct?

would it be wrong to tq them to 10 ft lbs?

Unless it specifically says no thread locker, Blue Locktite is your friend. There are a lot of smaller bolts on the bike, and aluminum castings etc, I think I'd stick as close to the torque as possible. 8 to 10, is about a 20% increase.
