I do. Additional insurance, and they help protect our rights as motorcycle riders.

If you have time to polish, you have time to ride.

I have been a member for 20+ (all thought I can't say I am active) years. I don't always agree with the position the AMA takes, but at least they are looking out for the rights of motorcyclist.

What extra insurance?

My wife is learning to ride and as she is much brighter then I she did some research and found out that amongst other sort of cool things AMA gives you a towing benefit for your bike and it is cheaper then most "AAA" type memberships that would cover bikes. I know the regular AAA doesn't tow bikes I'm not sure if there is an up-grade to add it.

I'm a member, they are a great collective voice for the rights of motorcycle riders. The added insurance is a little bit of peace of mind in the fact that they will get your bike home, but you have to read the fine print. It's free within 50 miles of your home. Still a nice benefit and you get a small monthly publication from them as well. I get other discounts from vendors for being a member and I also get a discount on my bike insurance from Progressive for being a member. Annual cost is pretty inexpensive too.

But the AAA does nothing to protect our rights as motorcyclist. One Florida town tried to ban motorcycle from the down town area and the AMA took the challenge to court. Also when a motorcyclist was shot in cold blood by a nut job in Indiana they assisted him. The NRA caught wind of the shooting and came running in to help the shooter, as soon as they got the facts from the AMA they left town. So I guess that helped to some degree.

Yes I am a member as they protect the rights of motorcyclists and represent us at all levels of government. Also get road side assistance, I hope to never need. I look at it like the NRA protecting second ammendmant rights, they are the only ones protecting our rights as riders so worthy or $35 a year
