Well I'm the Amsoil dealer that has run almost anything in my RS as an experiment but mostly run Amsoil. The closest I have found to Amsoil is the Mobile One V twin but nothing will last as long as Amsoil and an Amsoil ea oil filter IMHO. I have Mobile one in there now I put in on a long trip when I had to (I had almost 9K miles on my amsoil and go caught in a N.O. (LA) traffic jam and it was like high 90's that day. I have about 5K miles on the Mobile one and i think it won't last but about 2K more and that's 2K short. Almost a wash on the money side of things though. Next might be the AMsoil and Makcaps oil filter, that just may be the money saving combo of the year.

I installed Amsoil in March and saw a lower engine temp and oil temp on long 2up rides. I was using an infered non-contact termomiter to take random ck's as much as 25 deg from yamalube. Also I found with some help from a wix filters rep. that wix filter #51357 is a longer ( by an inch ) filter that flows an extra 9-10 gallons per min with all the specs of the OEM's.I think more flow helps the oil get to the parts so this might have some of the cooling affect.

Speaking of filters. I saw on here a list of filters and their ratings comparing their effectiveness. Now I can't find it. NOT THE LIST OF ALL FILTERS THAT WILL FIT ON A ROADSTAR. This was something different. I've searched tech articles, but no can find. Any help?

The Makcap oil filter cost like $140 but lasts like forever, you clean it. It's called a uummmmmmmm Oh search a K&P yes K&P permanent filter. That's the one, Its Cool, Just look at the fins on it's billet self. And cleanable.
