I have both the scala g4 and q2. Both have intercom and bluetooth + mp3 player connection and fm tuner. I found the q2 with the half helmet kit works great as a bluetooth and with 1 other person, but linking the 3rd unit requires switching back and forth and is annoying at best and distracting at worst. The g4 series is able to intercom 4 units at once with no switching, just an open channel all the time. Makes for natural conversation, but the audio kit for it doesn't seem to work with half helmets and does pick up quite a bit of wind noise with open helmets, mildly irritating, but worth the trade off to be able to talk. Had my q2 for years, got the g4 for a Labor Day trip, 3 units going for 1700 miles, worked really well and were on 10 hours a day without going dead on us before we got to the room to charge them.

I use an AUTOCOM. The best I've found for rider to passenger or bike to bike. Dead quiet all the way up to speeds as high as 180 MPH. ZERO wind noise.

I love mine.....

If that is the device you were using when we talked on the phone last year, I have to agree, I couldn't even tell you were on the bike. sounded like you were just sitting at home on the sofa..........

communication with the missus on the bike?

easy, just 2 things.

2 taps on the leg = slow down

quick squeeze of my dangly bits = `i need a pee break´, or `that rest area looks nice´

i ain´t into intercoms. i lke my biking to be a kind of zen thing.

"what kind of commo equipment do U guys use?" Yelling, finger gestures and body language.

I have a blower on my bike a lot but let's get back to talking about communicating with the wife......

We use hollering, plus actually if I turn my head just a bit she can talk in my ear. I'm tall, she is short and we wear half helmets.

Comm sets along with GPS and phones need to go in the saddle bags, then unbolt bags and leave home.
