You can get the colour you want by painting the bulbs with translucent model paint.

My '05 has a bulb out on the right side of the speedo. You know I need that one so I can see my exact speed when I'm going over 100 at night!

I decided to dig into mine and other than just a lot of screws its not a problem to dismantle. The lamps screw into the back of the circuit board. The 4 for the speedo and the 3 for the indicators are the same. Here's a couple of pics. I'm going to Radio Shack tomorrow to get all new lamps since I'm in there.

Yes, that is exactly what was on my 1999. The brown "socket" that's in your photo is what I "untwisted" the bulbs lead wires from and reinserted them with the replacements at Radio Shack. I just came home from a night ride and could easily see that I was doing 65 MPH (My burnt bulb was more in that range - grin).

First, I want to apologize for waking this topic back up after it has been dormant for so long.

Secondly, that's defintely a NeoWedge instrumentation lamp. I am not sure which millimeter it is, but they can be bought from SuperBrightLEDs.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Finstrument.html).

I've bought the NeoWedges in the past for my vehicle. They've been installed for over 4 years and are as bright as the day I bought them. I had bought them from a different supplier and I was not happy with the end result.

I emailed SuperBrightLEDs.com and they said the 3mm looks like it would be the best fit.
