Under cover boss on a harley? 2 Years, 7 Months ago
So I was watching some undercover boss with the wife over the weekend and they had the founder and CEO of postnet going undercover. He went undercover as a former bike shop owner who had to go back to work. So in his disguise, he was dressed up like a 70's biker. ok the show has me interested. the show kept talking about him being a harley rider yada yada yada. Well anyway, they show him on his bike and guess what...... it was a roadie. Now looking at this guy, he clearly could afford pretty much anything he wanted. Hell he had a corporate jet.

At the end, the boss gives his employees some pretty nice swag. One of his franchise owners had to sell his bike to run his shop. the undercover boss gave him ......... a harley 883 iron. although the guy obviously was grateful, he had the look in his eyes "a sportster for real" LOL. he could have given him a fatboy or something a little bigger.

Found the episode on YouTube. It's not a R*. Honda VTX I think. But yeah, he could have done better than a Sportster.

Have any of you that's bad mouthing a Sportster actually bother to ride one? If you haven't I think you will be a little surprised. I was. I was expecting a rough riding, undersized "girls" bike but what I found was a very capable, fun to ride bike that will get out from under you if you're not careful. It's very strong off the line, great in the twisties and cruises nicely on the open road. I mentioned earlier about it being called a "girls bike" or a "half Harley". This coming from other Harley owners. It's anything but. Don't mis-understand, it's not for long range touring. I have my Roadie for that. I have a 2007 Sportster Nightster 1200 and it will flat-out run. So don't laugh until you try one. I love my R* so I guess you could say I have the best of both worlds.

Maybe it's because of my (ahem) size, but when I test rode a Sportster, before I got my R*, it felt really small for me. Sure it had some nuts, but for me it would have just been a bar hopper.
