New tube every tire change? 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Is it necessary/best to replace the inner tube when replacing the tire?

Tubeless would be so much lighter!

It is recommended although some only switch every other change. Tubeless is always better.

Any Idea how hard it is to seal a wheel with spokes ? Is it a permanent seal ?

I replace them about every other. At around $30 each, it's not a big expense if you want assurance you have new rubber on the insides. But I've have had no issues with re-using them as noted above.

Some here have done it with, I think, a windshield sealer. Important to have the wheel trued and the spokes at the proper torque first. I think it's good for a few years.

Honestly, I don't recall changing them unless they've done it without my knowledge (and was part of routine tube replacement). ???

I leave it up to my tire guy. He's the expert. I go in expecting/planning on putting new tube in but if he's confident the old one is still in good working order he saves me $20 or so. If you change it yourself you need to know what to look for.

I usually went 3 tire changes, only flats I had were from riding over a nail. And I was getting 15k on a rear using a Metz 880.
