Riding Position 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Hey all,
Had a fairly bad day trip on Saturday, lots of rain and lost the lights late in the day, making ofr a mad dash home in the rain before dark, think its the wiring coming out of the bars.

Anyway, Saturday night my hips were hurting pretty bad, kind of like a groin pull. I have noticed that when its especially windy, I have to fight to keep my knees in close the ot he bike. I think thats what caused my pain. I have stock seat with floor boards extended. I'm wondering if I'm sitting to "up right". I know highway pegs will help and maybe lowers when I get my fairing on, but what about a seat that will move me back some? Or shold I move the floor boards and controls out a little farther?

Suggestions?
Supposed to be heading to Sturgis in a month, cant do that if my hips are gonna hurt like that after only a couple hours.

Thanks all

Are you running with or without a windshield? I can't imagine riding for an extended distance w/o mine.

I would loose the stock seat in favor of an E.D. or Ultimate. Much more comfortable.

Definitely ditch the stock seat. I get the same issue too trying to hold my legs close to the bike. Highway pegs helped a lot.

+1 ditching the seat. I just saw an E D standard in the classifieds here.

Yeah the stock seat is really bad. I rode a trip with the stock and it was painful. The ED Seat is a ton better (even the ultimate is good but you need a rain cover for the ultimate seat)

I had the stock seat with extended floorboards and had the same issue. It pretty much went away over night when I got the E.D. Big Touring seat. and didnt make any other changes at the time.

I sit more upright now with the E.D. than I did with stocker btw.
