I found a pulley. If it fits Dynas, Road kings, Electra glides, Road glides, will it fit the Road Star after the bolt holes are drilled out?

I keep finding myself in traffic going 130 to 140 km/hr and wishing the Road Star had a little more.

Does the belt guard still fit with this modification? I hate it when my pant leg gets in there

Yes, it will fit once drilled.

I would think the belt guard will fit just fine, the pulley's only 5 teeth smaller so there shouldn't be an issue.

You will definitely enjoy your highway riding a lot more!

this is what I got from gates, they don't make aftermarket belts for bikes, but they do!,they make for these companies and I called a couple of them, s@s says they broke on 160hp bikes but held up very good on 130hp bikes and down, super strong and quiet and I also called supermax products and they say they can also take our factory rear pulley and over our 70 tooth and put 65 tooth on them but very pricey!!!500."

I bought my belt on eBay, as have others here. You can simply google the size you need and go that route as well. Be careful of buying NOS - "New Old Stock" belts that have hung with a bend in them for a while as that creates a weak spot.

As to pulleys - eBay is your best bet. Just look for a 65 tooth 1 1/2 or 1 1/8 pulley - depending on your need - that fits an HD or HD style custom. You shouldn't have to pay very much as there are plenty of them out there. I'd never pay over $100 unless it was something stellar that I just couldn't live without

Getting ready to do this mod and noticed that my stock belt feels like rubber, but my new S&S Gates belt feels like plastic/vinyl.....Should I be concerned about this?

No concerns. A gates belt is a good brand belt.

When they are new some belts feel very stiff and plastic - no worries - so long as it wasn't folded over and creased.
