I don't exactly have an answer to your question but you could try this cleaner. I used it on my last bike and it did pretty darn good. Personally I hate spoke wheels. Too hard to keep clean.

thanks for the lead. The problem w/ our spokes is, they're mild steel w/ clear powder coating. As the powder coating wears, the spokes just look old & faded I've seen polished SS spokes , very cool w/ WWW

My old Shadow was the same way. The SS spokes do look a lot better but I still prefer cast wheels.

I've used wheel and spoke acid on mine (I manage a detail shop) and it doesn't do much to our spokes with the clear coat. Mine are clean, but look like an old aluminum door (color wise that is)

Stainless might be the best way to go, but wow, what a BIG job that is unless you replace one at a time or pay to have it done.

Yeah, the spokes are my biggest job right now, too. Mine look like an old aluminum door at best and have a little surface rust at worst. I've been cleaning, sanding and polishing a few at a time, but that's a tedious job and almost impossible to get all of the surface while their mounted. I had the same deal with my old Shadow and ended up spraying them with chrome paint. It took a lot of masking and probably wouldn't last all that long, but ended up looking much better than before.

Around 100 bucks a wheel. I probably would not order them from anyone else, personally.
