Got mine just before xmas and had it installed in about 30 minutes, mounted it with the brackets loose and once in place tightened them through the speaker holes, running it blank now, saving money for the sound system but lovin it.

Hey Dale! Did you buy another roadstar or a different bike? Yea, I do have the usa trailer store fairing. With a little bit of work its a good fairing. There are a few things you should do though:

1) Make sure the brackets are not backwards! You would be suprised how many people put the brackets on backwards and thats why they dont fit well. the small holes go at the top and the bigger holes go to the bottom with the curved part of the bracket facing forward.
2) Install the inner fairing with ALL 8 of the bolts loose on the fairing brackets. Not super loose just loose enough that thay can all move around when you push on it to adjust it. After you adjust it as close to the headlight bucket and handlebar riser as you can, then tighten the bolts for the brackets and its set.
3) Take the inner fairing off of the bike and attach the outer fairing to the inner. THROW AWAY THE THICK MOLDING that comes with the fairing. Its way to big to fit the fairing. Go to autozone and get the thin, self adhesive, door molding and install it aound the INNER fairing. Only other thing i did was add some thin self adhesive foam at the top of the inner and outer fairing so that you dont scratch the windshield when you install it, and it helps to sandwitch it in tighly.

Hope this helps! (not a bad idea for the reckless fairings also)

Will a windshield bag work with these fairings? I have had a bag on every windshield for the last 12-15 years.

My fairing was delivered last night. Opened up, very nice quality piece. Now the problem, they shipped me brackets for a H-D Softtail and not the Road Star. Of course by the time I got home they were already closed for the day. I have already sent them a message, we will see how they respond.

I have a question for the members here that already mounted there faring. I just got mine the last week, and wondering if it's best to re-rout the cables to behind the bars instead of the front as they came from the factory. Sorry if someone already asked this question, ion my phone it a little hard to scroll through all post. Thank again
