Harbor freight dolly question 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
|
|
So I got this dolly as a xmas gift and just put it together. My 05 fits barely but the kickstand won't sit in the tray. I know that there are shorter kickstands for the RS. Has anyone else had to change their stand or did you do something else to make it fit? Thanks.

I had one that fit the same way. It locked in pretty tight when I set the fold up ramps tight against the tires. I never had an issue with the bike falling off.

It seems like it's going to be sturdy enough. My bigger issue is with the kickstand.

Barons made a lowered kickstand. But your bike better be lowered or you wont like how far over it leans

No its not lowered. Not sure if ones from Brian would make it lean too much if it's like the ones from Baron.

I adjusted the part that sticks out, so the kick stand actually sits on the shoulder(on the leading edge), not in the tray. The bike sits more vertical, but is rock solid. I’ve never had a problem moving either around the garage.

Mine sits on the top edge of the side that is for the kickstand. It is sitting more up right but not sure I like it that way.

That’s how mine sit. I love it because the bike is stable, but takes up a lot less room then it does when it’s leaning way over on the side stand. As much as a foot less on the foot print. Push it against a wall with the kick stand out, and the chances of it being accidentally shoved over, is pretty much nil. I can sit on mine on the dolly, and never feel as if I have to be careful. Well, ....other then letting the wife catch you making motor noises. Be careful about that.

I had one for quite awhile and I moved the extension piece that the kickstand goes into and welded it to the side in the location I wanted and I also welded 2 pieces of square tubing together and welded a piece of angle iron inside the box/extension and I could put the tubing in place and then the bike would sit even more upright for storage. I just added ratchet straps when I used the “block” under the kickstand
