Yamaha Casting Success and Failure!! 6 Months ago
Hey guys, I just thought I'd share my little story with you guys... I opted out of the opportunity.

I was contacted for the Yamaha Casting recently, apparently they wanted me and my bike in whatever commercial/promo video they were creating... I'll keep it short, it was strange and very unorganized. Here's a little timeline of how things went down.

They contacted me, asking if I was interested. Told me the shoot would be at one location in Southern California (4 hours from me) and then the second part of the shoot would be at another location (2 hours from the first location) The shoot would take place on Saturday-Monday.

I asked them for details and they said they would put me up in a hotel, pay for food and mileage expenses. That same week I lost my job so I informed them It probably wasn't good timing (with the stress of figuring out what i'm going to do now)

They called me back offering $500 and all expenses paid... COOL!! So I said, I'm with it. I asked if I could take my cousin (because it may sound dumb but I don't like to travel to southern California on my bike alone) They told me that it would be ok.

They call me 2 days later and ask me for my helmet size, pant size, boot size, jacket and shirt size... Which was pretty cool, I assumed, Id probably get gear. They also asked me to send more pictures of my bike. They called me back a couple hours later and said we definitely need you to bring your bike, we'd like to feature it in the filming.

They call me about 4 days later and tell me that I cannot take anyone after-all because I would be sharing accommodations with other casting crew and people and also they would have brand new models out there and they do not want any leaks of the rides... Fine, I'll roll solo.

Then they call me back again the week before the shoot and tell me my bike is not needed. That I would be riding the new models. That is when I started thinking to myself... well, if my bike is not going to be in the footage, what's the point of me going? They could use anyone else... So I let them know I would not be able to make it after-all. Next day they call me back and tell me if its an issue with baby sitting that they will be able to pay my baby sitter for the shoot. I told them no thanks and that was the end of my opportunity. LOL

I heard they cancelled because they couldn't meet your demands of only red M&M's in the dressing room. They were saving them all for Mariah Carey.

How did you get on a call list? I understand why they wouldn't want your bike in a Yamaha commercial when it has Harley bags on it. It looks more HD than Yamaha to the average person.

Ease up Dave. He's struggling with the whole rejection thing right now, and you go and tell him its all his fault.

I didn't mean anything in a bad way. I love his bike. Hell mine has HD bags also Neither one would be good for an Yamaha commercial unless they want it to look like a HD sitting next to a Nice new Yamaha and they don't want to use an actual HD.
