Said goodbye to my Road Star 6 Months ago
I never thought I would part with my Road Star, it was by far the best bike I've ever owned.
But, it got to the point where there was nothing left to do to it, and I was replacing one new part with another, just for something to do.
So, this morning I traded it in for another project. I found a low mileage fat boy lo, that other than highway bars, is completely stock. It has a long ways to go to before it can compare to my Road Star. But, I enjoy making the changes almost as much as riding.

As great as the bike is, what I liked the most was the support here. I received a lot of great info from you all, and it's greatly appreciated. This place is the first site I visit when I log on in the morning, and my only real form of social media.

Becaus I'm not smart enough to add pics anymore, I don't have one to show. But, I'd like to still hang around, and maybe one day I'll figure out how to post pics again, and share a few.

Thanks again for all of the help over the years. There's no other place like this!

Sad to see this. Hope you are happy with your new ride. When I ride my wife's Fat Boy, it feels so small to me, almost toy-like. But it is more nimble than the Road Star and it sounds great. It's fun in it's own way.

Thanks PB, it definitely feels smaller, and doesn't handle anywhere near as well as the Road Star. But, I did a lot of work to the Road Star to get it to that point, hopefully I can make this one in to a bike that's just as good.

I'm in the process of selling my 99 right now also.Had it for 12 yrs. I want my wife to go riding with me and that's not one of the Road Stars strengths. I'm buying an 03 HD Ultra Classic with the nice big comfy seat and arm rests. I will truly miss it and the very cool people who reside here.

I guess all things come to an end sooner or later. Wish you all the luck with your new ride. I think we are going to have to change the name of this blub from the Road Star Clinic to The Road Star/Harley Clinic. Then the Harley converts wont feel bad about hanging around.
