Thanks for the input guys. I will be replacing the fork oil soon. I found an article on here about how to do it.
What is ATF that you flush with though?

Rich, I have the same year RS and run Michelin Comm II's. I have had a the wondering and feel like I have to balance the bike since installing the new tires. I thought it would go away after the break-in period. Any reason that you know would cause this?

I had a similar problem with the Michelin Commander II. Switched to the Metzeler 888 and it went away.
Agree, check the steering head bearings.
How long since they have been serviced? I grease mine every year.
After greasing, torque them properly.
Rear tire alignment
This can give you issues as well. There are a number of threads here on how to do it.

I was thinking the spokes could be one of those sneaky little culprits. Anyone ever check theirs? If they loosen up the bike would certainly want to wander.

I'm a complete newbie with this type of bike as I just bought mine.
The guy said the rear tire was shot and it was but I elected to replace both even thought the front looked fine.
On my first ride taking it to the dealership it was all over the place, scary to say the least.
New tires made a night and day difference and the handling is now very pleasant and predictable.
This is the second bike I've had where tires that looked okay were not.

Try a lower pressure especially up front. As I recall, the frame sticker says MAXIMUM pressure up front should be lower than 39 (I think it's either 33 or 35). Rear is 39 max, I believe. Too much pressure can make a bike seriously squirrely.
Experiment with different pressures, it's easier than all the other fixes suggested here and just a couple PSI can make all the difference. I find 28-30 makes the front of my bike feel more stable. I'm a light rider (160lb) tho, you may like more or less PSI. So far after 6000 miles my front tire hasn't worn funny wit the lower pressure.

Spokes wont wander much at speed, But when you are going 25 or so and lower and in a corner they will feel like you are dirt biking around a corner. I had 17 broken spokes on my rear wheel, on the saame side and on a ride that averaged between 50 and 90 for 250+ miles, I didn't notice a thing. Until I got back home and was toodlin tot he grocery store...l.... errr strip club I mean.
But I will attest to Shinko soft sidewalls. I just replaced my rear, and I am less than happy with this one. the last one was great. this one is wandering all over hell and creation, Got a service ticket in on it now.

I had the Kendas on my goldwing and they just wanted to go wherever they wanted. I switched back to the E3's and all was good. Plus when I removed the Kendas, I found that they were starting to separate so there's no way I'm ever going to touch them again. Checking your bearings and changing your oil cant hurt either.
