Anyone useing 90° valve adpaters with cast wheels? 1 Year, 7 Months ago
If so, have you had any problems? I find the cast wheels even more difficult to air up than the spoke rims; would you recommend the adapters?

Lance the adapters have a tendency to leak they're OK to fill your tire up but remove them when done

I changed mine to permanent 90 degree at the first tire change. Works perfect.

When I had new tires mounted, I went with these.

I've read about guys having trouble with those adapters. They flex the rubber valve stem at speed and cause them to flex and lose air. Better to wait and use permanent mounted metal stems at tire change.

I use one of those on the back. It's not supposed to be left on when riding, only use it to put air in and then remove it before riding off. You will loose a small amount of air when unscrewing it to take it off, so check the pressure after. You may find you need to add slightly more air pressure before you remove it to assure the pressure is where you want after a small amount leaks out during removal of the valve. I also plan on getting the permanent ones before I put on tires again. Good luck.

I installed those last year on my spoked rims after I sealed the spokes. The K&L brand kinda sucks in these. Over priced most of the time. Mine are Bikemaster brand. I'm putting some on my SV at my next tire change.

Re: 90° Valve stem adapters 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I put a Bikemaster 90° valve stem on the rear when I replaced the tire last Fall. It sure makes things a lot easier. Will do the front when I replace the front tire.
