Tranny rebuild kit on eBay 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
If anyone is interested, there are a couple of complete 4th gear rebuild kits on eBay for a pretty decent price. Currently the seller has them discounted at 50% off OBO. I offered him $60 shipped, and was pleasantly surprised when he accepted it. The gaskets are worth more than that if you ever have to open your bike up. The linked seller did not take the big gaskets out of the box for the pictures, but they are in there, you can see the wrappers in the packed box.

this is a better picture from another seller (with auction BIN @ $179) of everything I got in the $60 package.

It says it's for a 1700. Could be some differences.

Can't say for sure that kit will fit a 1600.
The part number for the 1602cc engine recall kit is #90891-10117-00 not the shown #90891-10119-00.

Checked against the factory Yamaha Parts system, the ...17 part is for a 1600.
The ...19 part number is for a 1700, which doesn't have a 4th gear pinion (or any other transmission) recalls on it.

They're not the same kit, not even the same price for them.
Know what you need & know what you're buying.

When it comes to trannys, you need to know everything up front.

On a serious note, the gaskets are still worth the money.

You got that right (on both counts - LOL), that's below dealer cost on the complete gasket set.
You'll need all those gaskets to repaint an engine.
