This is a long post so be warned.
I was going to sell my Inovate wideband Air/fuel guage, and the buyer backed out. I had wanted to do an install, but no room on the Honda ACE. So I began to think about the problem. You really don’t need a permanent install anyway. You just need the A/F gauge when tuning.

I made up a wire to hook the gauge into the charging connector for the battery as my electrical connection. I got a piece of 2 inch pipe about 10 inches long and welded a bung in that for the sensor. I made a clip to clamp it to the exhaust pipe on the bike.

The problem with that was that on one cylinder the sensor gets too much oxy from the surrounding air when placed near the end of the tail pipe, and you don’t get a good reading, so I extended the pipe past the bung so the gases have further to travel past the sensor before exiting the pipe.

I ended up with a unit that I can hang in the tail pipe on my 750 ACE or any other bike or car without a permanent install.

Just thought some may be able to use this info in the future.

Cool beans! Would be fun to bring that to the M&G and test some bikes.

I just reset the pilot screws on my dual carbs. Worked great to even them out.
