Oh yeah, I've owned my bike for one year tomorrow. I'll hit 10k miles on the ride I'm about to go on today. Bought it with 0 miles. Although, I wasn't able to ride it until late July, so I guess it's only been 11 months. Not as many miles as some of you guys get in for sure, but I have never ridden it to work (I drive a work truck home) and it sat for 4 1/2 months without even being started during this most brutal winter we experienced this year So, it's really 10k miles in 6 1/2 months. Sure, I have my complaints about the bike (lack of power and the suspension is a joke) but it has never let me down, and neither did the old one (2000 model). At least my miles outnumbers my post count

Here's to 10x 10k miles more

can't believe you get a new bike and hardly ever ride it.
Your lack of power comments always crack me up. (but I've never ridin an R1 like you) You are twisting the grip on the right side to get it to go faster right?? And shifting gears??? Did you maybe buy one of those 650 Road Stars that they are always selling on CL??

I know the lack of power thing always makes you wonder what's wrong with me

I understand it's not an R1, don't expect it to be. I also have the problem of a bunch of extra weight slowing things down so that doesn't help. I've never really ridden another big cruiser either, so I don't really have anything similar to compare it to. Roadstar was the first street bike I ever rode. Never ridden a Street Glide or whatever. I'm ok with it, but I would like to take a Strat for a ride just to see the difference someday

I wish the FI bikes were tunable because I'm sure I could extract some extra power out of this thing but I don't have the money to do the kind of experimenting that I want to do at the moment.

Don't worry man, you arent alone! Coming from 7 sport bikes..... gsxr 750, R1, honda cbr 600 f4, Sv650, zx14, zx10, fz1...... trust me I feel your pain lol. I do love my ultrastar though, wouldn't grade it for any one of those other bikes but I am looking to add a concours or fj to the stable in the near future!

Oh, and don't take a Strat out for a ride please because you will be selling the roadstar soon after lol

Yeah, I do dig riding my brother's Strat. The torque is always right there. Feels lighter and more nimble than you would think. Still happy to get back on the Roadie though
