Folks, another room has just opened up at the America's Best Value Inn in Celina. Jen and I won't be making the trip this year.

The guy at the hotel said there's a few other open rooms, so if anyone wants to get closer to the action, you really can't pick a better spot.

Hope everyone has as great a time as usual!

cheers

George

Say it aint so George....why?

Mark - We're off to Europe for a few weeks, and the east coast of Canada later this summer, and hoping to go south in November - so my available vacation time is maxed out.

Sorry we're sitting this one out - we're going to miss a bunch of good people and a hell of a good party - and it would have been five consecutive years!

Pat - thanks for the note, appreciate it!

George

So just skip one of the other trips and make Celina.
(What do you get in Canada, like 8 weeks of vacation a year..? )

almost... it's not a Canadian thing, depends on the province and on the local labor market.

Legally, full-time salaried employees in my province are entitled to two weeks of paid vacation each year. Most companies offer more based on seniority, to be competitive in the local job market.

I have five weeks, Jen has seven. There's also 11 stat holidays over the course of the year, so when you add those in, yeah, it's a lot of time off...and I'm not complaining

Wasn't an easy decision, but travel to the USA is far less appealing to us now than it's been in the past, even for an event - and people - we really enjoy.

What's different about traveling to the US now than in the last couple years?

Sounds like a great trip. Have fun and take lots of pics. You should start a travel blog so we can check you out in Europe!

Yea, Europe is soooooo much better. If I may recommend Germany...and some good German beer .

On a side note, Paris isn't all what it's cracked up to be (I promise it has nothing to do with that we don't like the French ). Lol.
Out of curiosity, which countries are on your agenda ?

Well that sucks. I sold my bike but was gonna attend to get to hang out with George and Jenn (no offense to anyone else) I may still run up and say hi since we are so close, but gonna cancel my room also. So there will be a ground floor available.
