Did I miss something 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Like several of us I am trying to finish my jetting/carb work. So I pulled to manifold and carb and replaced the manifold and cleaned and did some repairs to the carb jetting. The previous owner did a some jetting after adding some short shots and a BAK. Now that it is done I tried to start it and the fuel pump that was working fine when I pulled everything is now not engauging. I hear it power up but not pumping. Is this just a concidence or did I miss something. Before I pull the center covers to get to it I wanted to ask the question. The pump was relocated and is a pain to get to so I thought I would get some advice first.

doesnt click at all which is really weird as it was fine just to the point of me taking the tank and carb off. I have replaced it once last year with one that Blackrain sold me because the last one crapped out on me. I know what they sound like and when they are dead. THis one sounds like it is tyring to start (one click at key start with no further clicks). It should be pumping like crazy. I will pull the covers torrow but wanted to just ask.

Try disconnecting the line from the carburetor and see if it pumps. If it does then it's likely that the float is stuck or set too tight.
