Pics of Sqeeky Pulley Issue 2 Years, 8 Months ago

Here is a pic of the pulley that I was talking about. It is very uniform in appearance but the teeth are not rounded on top like the OEM. It produces a humming slightly sqeeky sound. So is it the old belt on a different pulley or is it the design of the pulley or is it something else. Belt tightened properly and adjusted to specs so that is not the issue. Also the gaps in the teeth in the picture are actually cut outs for the nipples of the spokes. The angle makes it look like they are broken but they are not.

That thing looks horrible.

Appears to have chunks of the teeth missing and foreign objects protruding from it. Looked as tho it spent most of its life crushing rocks down a gravel road.

I would have never mounted it up in the first place.

Looks like one of those worn out aluminum pulleys. The teeth shouldn't be sharp like that. Probably didn't look like that when it was new.

That thing needs thrown in the trash. The "teeth" (humps) should be smooth and uniform.

Thats the thing that I cant figure out. It has not had wearing on the teeth if you look at the sides of the pulley there is no indication that there were places where there was metal were the teeth used to be and now is just worn down. It appears to have been manufactured to have flat teeth. But I have not ever seen a pulley that was spoked in person before. As far as chunks missing they are not missing they are there to that the spoke nipples can be tightened form the top.

If it is aluminum, that's most of your issue. Had one that squealed and tore up my belt too. Expensive lesson. Steel pulleys only.

That pulley is loooong overdue for replacement and I would replace the belt at the same time as there is no way it hasn't suffered running over those sharp teeth.

The belt has had less than two blocks driven on that pulley. Well aint that some crap. Thought I had a real find there. Out it goes I guess so I am on the hunt for another nice chrome pulley. Spoked was nice but I guess I will take something else. Damn.

Yep the pulley is junk. If you are real handy with things you may be able to mod it and turn it into a garage clock.
