I'm determined to try the zip tie method the next time. Mounting the low profile VeeRubber on the 21 for my Springer, was just to much fun.

Real nice bike! I like it with the apes and 21" together. I also like it without the apes and with the 16" up front reminds me of the low and mean fatboy on Terminator movie with Arnold! Real cool looking bike you created there.

I will have to get that fixed before it's time to ride again. I do have a set of Rotors (thanks Jim) that are waiting to go on it, but I had to order a set of bolts to mount them on with and they have not came in yet.
I was wondering if anyone would notice that it had brakes but no rotors.

What wheel did you end up ordering? Would love to ditch the bulky stock one for something slimmer like yours.

Did you have to fab up spacers from proper axle alignment on it?

I ended up buying this one as I wanted dual disk brakes http://www.ebay.com/itm/21X3-5-60-SPOKE-FRONT-WHEEL-HARLEY-ULTRA-ROAD-KING-STRET-GLIDE-TOURING-00-07-/351903104420?hash=item51ef0f3da4:g:vaUAAOSwcUBYJfUN&vxp=mtr
You would have to make spacers or buy some from Brian Verney (not sure how to spell his name) Smokescreen may still be selling them as well. I also had to space the calipers in .250 to align them with the rotors (had to get HD 11.8 dia. rotors as well. not on in the pics)
I really like the look, however I will most likely not get to ride the bike and try it out until spring.

Thanks for the link, may have to order that wheel this winter and follow in your footsteps here. I'm assuming the axle was a direct fit then right?

I'll shoot you a PM if this is too specific for this thread, but curious to see a pic of how you shimmed the calipers that .250. Maybe just adding a .250 washer on the inside of the mounting hole?

The axel is not direct fit. The adapters are both, spacers and axel adapters all in one.
As for the calipers your right on, it was just .250 spacers between the calipers and mounting holes

I am thoroughly impress with how the bike has turned out so far. It's actually starting to inspire me to build my bobber now. I thought the tank would look out of proportion with the stripped down look of the bike, but with those bars, the bigger wheel, and the larger seat, it looks just fine. I will probably follow in your footsteps when I start mine, only thing I'd do different is ditch the rear fender and put the fattest tire I could fit on the ass end.

I still haven't decided if
I'm going to keep the tank or get a smaller one. Maybe a 3.3 gal mustang. But, for now it is low priority on my list, maybe next winter
