I'm undecided if it's an info-commercial for HD. Like the way the little pig (aka HOG) was introduced as a peace offering between the two racers. A lot of focus on their honesty and how dishonest the other manufactures appear. Still entertaining but could be a well planned sales event!

Side note - had to ride into town for some items this morning. Found myself preferring to ride the R* over the Heritage.

I watched the first one last night so I could fast forward through all the ads. I have to say I laughed rather loudly when he proclaimed "she leaked a trail of oil all the way back" hahahaha

Discovery filmed the HD infomercial that will be played at all the HD dealers in the future and in the living rooms of die hard HD fans. IMO if you ride 2 wheels and its a motorcycle - fantastic. I could care less what brand anyone rides. If you like it, ride it. Every company needs to promote itself. Now we need an Indian docudrama, a Road Star docudrama and more! Woot!

It's got two wheels and a motor I will watch it. Noting wrong with HD except I can't afford one. Just finished the last episode and loved it. My favorite is "Worlds Fastest Indian" and have that on CD never get tired of watching it.

Especially the last 30 minutes. Holly cow!

I like how they turned Walter into the prototype of the bad biker dude. Talk about poetic license.

Hugely disappointed!!! Was expecting more of a documentary. Imagine what they could have done if they let Ken Burns (Civil War, Baseball) produce it!

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice that the old 'one lung' motorized bicycles had a lope very much like the later V twin dual pin crank motors?
Guessing Harley told the 'Foley guy' what sound effect to use.

Yep. Notice the Triumph sound track in several of the race scenes too? A pre WWI single pretty much universally sounded like a "poppin Johnny" 5:1 compression, total loss oiling, open valvetrain, etc. Pretty much gave you a 1600 RPM motor for several years, until the likes of Curtiss started research in earnest for aircraft engines. Incidentally, competed with both HD and the Wright Brothers simultaniously. Where is THAT 3 night mini series?
While I have heard several of these stories before, and much of the basic premise is that the company was founded on performance, both the customer base and the company couldn't give 2 shits about racing anymore. This is one thing that pisses me off about Sturgis, Daytona, Laconia, etc. These events were born out of racing events. Now they are drinking, ego stroking titty flopping merchandise parties. Shame. Racing is STILL fun to watch, believe me. More fun than watching some gal 20 years past her glory days trying to bite a hot dog on a string while riding by on the back of acbike. Damn.
