Mine is an 05 too and mine was loose when I checked it years back. I use my impact wrench to torque it down, it is time to check it again. Mine is worse because I do not have a cush drive to take up the back torque on the rear wheel it is a direct drive rear pulley bolted to the rear hub. Good for peeling out and burning up rear tires.

Dang it man! I should have done this when I switched over to duals. I was thinking I would while they were on the way, and when they got here I was so excited that I just forgot. I had a heck of a time getting the rear cyl. cross pipe joint to seal.

Any tips for dually people? I'm wondering if I could hang some rope from the ceiling and rotate the left pipe up out of the way and only need to disconnect at the jug and bracket?

It was changed sometime in 06 I think but not all the 06's. The output shaft is different and the nut is different, with no tab washer. I believe the nut has a place that is staked with a punch that goes down into a place on the shaft. My 05 was loose and had the tab washer my 07 was tight and I didn't want to take it off to see how it was held. At any rate they all should be looked at say once a year or more. Don't know why the setup wasn't done with a keyway or a woodruff key.

Checked mine day before yesterday after seeing this thread, Curt.

Solid as a rock. Tabs in place. Did not disturb it.

Thanks for the reminder. It is now on my annual maintenance schedule.

When you pick a handle to use on the clinic keep in mine that with two part handles a space in the handle keeps the PM function from working when used in a post. If you go to the message page and start to type the handle it will put the handle in even if it has a space. In short it is best to use and underscore (_) instead of a space in a handle that way it all works.

Think there is any way to drill and wire this in place, so those of us with duals don't have to remove the exhaust every time we need to check this?
