So ordered another 3 cans of 2K clear to make sure I get enough on it this time to not sand/cut through the clear this time. Also ordered another 2 cans of Kandy to cover the sand through mistakes from the last time. I also found a great sight for pinstriping decals twistedchrome.com that I think I am going to add since it looks a little boring right now. I don't want to go into pinstriping lessons right now and these I have seen before and look really good and can easily be removed if you don't like them and they are relatively cheap as well. Saw them on a guys car a few years back and didn't know they were decals until I touched them.
Paint will take a week to get here and this time I will be much more patient and take my time to get it right. Never rush a paint job. My mistake cost me another $85 in paint and time as well. Made more work than I needed to because of the rushing it part. Live and learn I guess. I am not to upset considering I have never attempted painting anything other than walls in my house before and the results were pretty darned good.

Pretty much everything else you can see from the pictures the fenders are sitting on Lumber roller stands with the rollers removed bought those from Harbor Freight. I was going to use motorcycle tires that I had sitting around to hang on to the paint stands and then put the fenders on directly on the tires but that was only necessary while I was sanding before I painted the fenders. After that I remove the tires and just put them directly on the stands as you can see in the photographs. Ventilation work pretty well garage door open spray get out of the booth let it flash go back into the booth another coat what that flash go back in the booth and so on.
The paint that I used all came from little daddy Roth since they don't charge shipping and it was black primer two cans four cans of base coat greasy black three cans of metal flake four cans of red cherry candy and 4 cans of 2K clear
I spent the afternoon wet sanding with 800 Grit 1000 grit 1500 grit 2000 grit and it doesn't look like I'm going to need to do another coat of clear so I'm ready to polish which I'll do tomorrow and I'll post pics of the finished pieces then. So by tomorrow night I should have everything assembled and back together and I'll post pics as I go.
Did you buy your paint right from Big Daddy Roth?

Yes I did because if you go over $150 you get free shipping and their prices were better than any other source for the Roth pain that I could find. They also will accept returns of any unused paint as long as you keep the receipt and have not used any of whatever is left over. They also were very helpful with advice on my questions.
I think that anyone reading on the net about issues with their paints were victims of user errors. I had no issues with the paints, cans, or anything else. Pricey maybe but compared to a professional doing the job the cost is not even close. I will close out this job total for under $350. Try getting you bike painted with something close to a custom paint job for that.

You're right, I didn't catch that. Definitely wouldn't start with anything less than 1200 or 1500 grit for wet sanding. 800 grit will blast right thru the clear coat. When I worked in the body shop, we used 1200 or 1500 grit for wet sanding and then buffed it out.
