Throttle Lock - Best?? 13 Years, 5 Months ago
I have a 2004 Road Star 1700 and want to get a throttle lock for long rides. Does anybody have suggestions of which to get and from where?

Thanks,
Lynn

Lynn,
I've used this little device for over 3 years, and love it. It's made by John Redmond, and is called the Clever Lever.
Here's the website;

http://www.redmondinnovations.com/shop_details.asp?cat=Clever+Lever+Cruise+Control&prod=CLEVER+LEVER+ROADSTAR

May just have to 'copy' and paste in your address field. Or, just type in www.redmondinnovations.com and look for the Clever Lever for the RoadStar.

While it's not a 'true' throttle lock, it engages and disengages easily. Also, the price is great.

Just a thought,

I got the cam lock from www.madcorider.com - I have been really happy with it and have gotten some compliments on the way it looks. A little more expensive than the clever lever but a little nicer, imho.

I use the brakeaway throttle lock. It is a nice piece of machinery. A little on the high side but very safe as it also disengages with the use of the front brake lever as well as at the touch of a lever. Easy to install and works great.
